Our organized motorcycle trips are like flavors of ice cream: each one has a unique taste. I (Phil Freeman) get asked which adventure is the best, and I have to take pause. This question might be the most difficult to answer because, honestly, they are all fantastic for different reasons. It really depends on the person asking the question. I usually answer coyly, “the next one.ā€

However, I do have my favorite reasons for experiencing each ride we offer. A great ride, in general, revolves around the camaraderie of the group, the unique characteristics of the chosen destination, the roads, the locals, and of course the food. I could go on, but you get the point.

Each destination we offer brings something to the table in terms of a world-class experience. It’s never too early to plan, and as we look to the fall season we have three excellent ā€œflavorsā€ of adventure to offer our riders.

See if you can find the one you are the most drawn to…here we go!

When I think of challenging riding, wide open spaces, and quaint destinations, I think of Baja. For those who want to dabble off the beaten path, enjoy desert solitude, crystal clear starlit evenings, remote and rustic destinations, then our Baja Backroads Adventure is perfect for your palate. We have hand-selected dirt-surfaced backroads that take you to out-of-the-way lodging that puts you smack dab in the middle of spacious and tranquil Baja. To get to Baja is relatively easy. To forget Baja is basically impossible. Ride with us south of the border and quickly become a fan of this wild and spacious landscape. Spend a night at Mike’s Sky Ranch and you, too, will become a fan of exploring Baja.

Check out the video below as Phil expands on the allure of riding in Baja…

When I think of picturesque spanish colonial towns, avocados the size of a cantaloupe, broad smiles from locals, lush, green rolling landscapes and thousands of curves on great paved roads – I think of Colombia. Our Colombia Valley of the Andes Adventure is a unique itinerary that links remarkable colonial towns – like GirĆ³n, Barichara, and Villa de Leyva – that seem locked in time with world-class paved roads. Dramatic changes in climates and altitudes are the order of the day. Colombia will leave you smiling with its friendly locals, UNESCO World Heritage destinations and its curvaceous roads.Ā

When I think about a place where I can literally ride the world, in terms of biodiversity, in one sitting, MotoQuestā€™s Ecuador Adventure shoots to the top. Ecuador is the most bio-diverse country in the world, boasting glaciated volcanoes and beaches, all at your fingertips. We handpicked top-quality lodging, so get ready for a little pampering as you travel from glaciers to hummingbirds in cloud forests, to sunsets on the beach. When you want to see something different around the next bend, Ecuador delivers it all.Ā

I cannot answer that one destination is better than another. However, I can say that when you are planning your fall vacation, choose any of these three destinations and you will put yourself in that fulfilling arena. The one where you smile inside your helmet because you are living your dream, exploring the world and creating memories for a lifetime. I hope you can join us for one of these rides, and nurture that inner smile all because you made the decision to explore the world with us.

Have you RSVPed? Slideshow Presentation: Romania and Alaska

In just a few short weeks, MotoQuest founder Phil Freeman will leave the cold of Alaska to join the crew at our Portland Rental Facility to put on a gathering about our Romania and Alaska adventures on March 7 at 6pm with food and refreshments.

This is a HUGE opportunity to:
1) Meet the founder of MotoQuest
2) Gain insight from those whoā€™ve experienced riding in Alaska and Romania
3) Hear from Ovi Puia, whoā€™s from Romania, about the Romaniacs adventure this summer and what makes this trip unique
4) Phil Freeman – co-author of the book The Adventurous Motorcyclistā€™s Guide to Alaska – will be presenting a slideshow on Alaska
5) Receive a gift as you arrive (think Transylvania and be warned we are a goofy bunch)
6) Be fed and refreshed…because we know you have to eat!

This will be a great night to sink your teeth into photos and stories about Romania and Alaska adventures offered by MotoQuest, hear what is involved in riding on a group adventure, and any other questions you bring will be answered!

RSVP HERE will help us know how much food and refreshments to gather.
