Here are (more than) a few words from Phil Freeman, MotoQuest founder, regarding our up-and-coming Colorado Rocky Mountain High Scouting Adventure.

“I have always wanted to explore the backroads of Colorado, having seen the photos and heard the stories of the high pass dual-sport roads that crisscross the Rocky Mountains. Being born and raised in Alaska, I am always attracted to remote regions surrounded by pristine wilderness, but have never had the opportunity to explore this rugged and scenic corner of our country. This year, the opportunity presented itself. We turned our eyes to the Rockies. I have spent the past 20 years developing rides throughout the world, but I’ve never been more excited than I am about what we have developed for Colorado. I personally love jeep trails, abandoned gold rush towns, water crossings, and that indescribable euphoria when you kill the engine and gaze out at mountains as far as the eye can see. I know that our Colorado Rocky Mountain High Scouting Adventure will deliver all this and more.

We are blessed with Colorado-based staff with intimate knowledge of the world-class dual-sport roads that the Centennial State has to offer. We will be mounting up knobbies and meeting in Grand Junction, CO for a 12-day adventure encompassing the highest passes, Pikes Peak, quaint ski towns, comfortable accommodations, free days with multiple riding options, and two nights in Moab, Utah, so you can explore the epic surroundings of that outdoorsy desert town. I will be accompanied by two guides, both of whom are locals intimately familiar with Colorado.

As with every scouting endeavor, we will be fine-tuning what I foresee to be one of our premier dual sport adventures, so we will be looking for riders who are fine with adversity, open to the spirit of camaraderie and teamwork, and helpful with input as to how to make this trip better in the future. As with any MotoQuest adventure, safety comes first, but laughter and great memories are our priority. I sincerely hope that you consider joining me and the MotoQuest team to scout the high passes and backroads of Colorado.

Who let the knobs out!? Who! Who? Who?!

It’s us. This November, we’re popping some big-block tires onto the ADV rigs for a ride along the jeep trails, gravel roads, and pavement through pristine desert landscapes. We will be basing ourselves in Furnace Creek, at the heart of Death Valley, and doing out-and-back day rides for three full days. This ride is perfect for those who want a quick, one-week getaway with the desire to kick up some dust while enjoying warm temperatures.

Cassiar Scout Adventure
August 30 – September 12, 2020

Let’s close out the Alaska riding season with a trip into Canada over the dramatic, unpaved Top of the World Highway into historic Dawson City, and then continue south on the sparsely populated Cassiar Highway. Keep your passport handy, as we’ll be swinging back into the US for a bit in Hyder, Alaska, before continuing on through western Canada towards the southern Canadian border. After taking a detour through the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State, we’ll conclude the trip by rolling into the City of Roses, Portland, Oregon.

New Year’s In Baja Scouting Adventure
December 24, 2020 – January 6, 2021

Join us as we kick off a new holiday tradition! Grab your passport, practice your Spanish, and prepare to hit the road with a group of adventurous travelers to and from the southern tip of the Baja peninsula. You probably know we’ve been running one-way paved tours of the peninsula for several years; so now it’s time to try something a little different, with new-to-us roads and lodging on a round-trip itinerary. Give yourself the gift of watching Los Angeles disappear in your rearview mirror on December 25, and ring in the new year from La Paz! There are a few “choose your own adventure” days sprinkled into the mix, so if you’re interested in having the freedom to explore, this ride is for you.

Mongolia Scouting Adventure
September 7 – 21, 2021

Fair warning: this scouting adventure is nearly sold out. Why? The combination of riding jeep trails and occasional pavement through steppes, hills, and mountains, along with the experience of cultural immersion are certainly contributing factors. Most nights, we’re sleeping in ger-style luxury tents. We spend three nights in Ulgii so riders can either stay to observe the traditional Golden Eagle Festival or enjoy outrides during the days. This will be an unforgettable experience.
