Since the past year has been… well… y’know, we wanted to take our readers through something of a brief guided meditation. If you’d rather skip on down to where we tell you about our all-paved guided adventures around Alaska, be our guest.

Get yourself in a comfortable position, and here we go.

Start by taking deep breaths in through your nose, down to your belly, and slowly release from your mouth. Notice if your jaw or shoulders are tense, and give them permission to relax for the next few minutes.

Unclench your hands so they form loose fists, as if gently wrapping around handlebars. Let your two longest fingers reach out for levers and come back to the bars in time with your breath. Taking deeper breaths, bring calm energy from the top of your head all the way down to the tips of your toes, and exhale gratitude for motorcycles being part of your life. Roll your feet at the ankles around slowly, and then up and down, imagining where brake and gear shift levers might be.

Continuing the deep breathing, visualize yourself on a motorcycle gliding along the two-lane highways of Alaska, hugging curves along waterways, winding up and down mountain passes. As you ride through the lush national forest, bald eagles soar above you. You pass a moose and her calf grazing among the trees, anglers casting colorful lures into a river, and mountains reflecting in glacial lakes.

We hope you’re feeling good. Enjoy this moment. You can always come back.

we get get to offer it twice every summer!

Day 1: Arrival Day
Meet the whole crew in Anchorage at the welcome dinner – Alaska style!

Day 2: Anchorage to Moose Pass
Ride the Seward Highway, a National Forest Scenic Byway, to Seward. Take optional rides to Exit Glacier, Lowell Point, and observe sea lions and otters playing in Resurrection Bay before riding north to Moose Pass. Stay in Moose Pass.

Day 3: Moose Pass to Whittier
Experience the Kenai Peninsula: land of lakes, rivers, mountains, rivers and fjords. Take a motorcycle sojourn to the small Gold Rush town of Hope. Continue north past Portage Glacier, through the longest combined vehicle-railroad tunnel in North America, and into Whittier. Stay in Whittier.

Day 4: Whittier to Talkeetna
Ride with the guides to Talkeetna, inspirational town for “Northern Exposure”. This funky little town is the home-base for mountaineers who are bold enough to attempt summit Denali, the tallest peak in North America.

For those who want to add a flight-see around Denali, arrive in Talkeetna by early afternoon and get ready to see something truly spectacular. Stay in Talkeetna.

Day 5: Talkeetna to Fairbanks
Ride from the mountain climber’s Mecca to the historical gold rush city of Fairbanks. On the way we will pass by Denali, stop for a photo opportunity at Denali National Park, and cross the epic Alaska Range at Broad Pass on the Parks Highway.

Hope you remembered to bring a swimsuit so you can soak in the healing waters at Chena Hot Springs at the end of the day! Stay in Fairbanks.

Day 6: Fairbanks to Valdez
Ride on the Richardson Highway, another National Forest Scenic Byway through the scenic Alaska Range at Isabel Pass. Enjoy sweeping vistas of the Alaska Range and glaciers. We will pass several more of the tallest peaks on the continent, these being within the largest U.S. national park: Wrangell – St. Elias. Enjoy Thompson Pass, arguably one of the best scenic paved rides in the world. Glaciers and cascading waterfalls abound. Stay in Valdez, Alaska.

Day 7: Rest Day or Out-ride from Valdez
Join your guide for two-wheeled exploration of the area. We will swing by our favorite wildlife viewing area where you could see bears, sea lions, seals, eagles and otters dropping by for a snack. Those that prefer to have a day off from riding can take a relaxing walk around town and attempt to count the rabbits. You can even charter a half-day fishing trip, and have your catch properly packed and shipped back home for you! Local sea kayak and helicopter tours are also popular options. Stay in Valdez.

Day 8: Valdez to Matanuska Glacier
Motorcycle your way through Thompson Pass, then sojourn to the Copper River. Ride the Glenn Highway, our final National Forest Scenic Byway on the trip and considered to be one of the top ten scenic roads in North America. Stay near the Matanuska Glacier.

Day 9: Matanuska Glacier to Anchorage
Take the opportunity to walk on the Matanuska Glacier and ride the spectacular Glenn Highway. Ride past glaciers and mountain tops all the way back to Anchorage. Farewell dinner this evening. Stay in Anchorage.
